The quieter half

Travel, getting ready, the rooms worth remembering, and the thinking nobody asks me for.

This is the quieter half of my world.

Not the booking and not the performance. The travel, the getting ready, the rooms I liked enough to remember, and the thinking I do when nobody is asking me to be anything in particular.

It arrives as a letter. Not on a schedule, because a schedule would make it a chore for both of us, but whenever there is something worth sending. New photographs. A city I keep going back to. The parts of an evening that happen long before anyone sees me.

If you are on the list, you are here because you asked to be. I would rather you stayed.
